Does Guido's Panel & Paint guarantee their work?

Yes.  Guido’s Panel & Paint are committed to doing a complete and thorough job on your vehicle.  We will repair your vehicle to manufacturers’ specifications.  In addition, most insurance companies will also guarantee the repair for as long as you own the vehicle.

What vehicles can Guido's Panel & Paint repair and paint?

We can fix any and all vehicle body damage on any make or model.  This includes sedans, utes, wagons, buses, trucks, tractors, motor bikes and various commercial vehicles.  There is no job too big or small that we wouldn’t be happy to fix for you.

How much will my repair cost me?

Every accident is different and so each repair costs a different amount.   We will assess the damage and provide a repair quote for you or for your insurance company.

If you file a claim with your insurance, you only pay us the excess and in some cases, this is waived if you are not at fault.

If you were not at fault for the accident and you are covered by the other party’s insurance, you pay no out of pocket charges and the other party will be billed accordingly.

If you decide to pay for the repairs on your own, we will provide you with an estimate and before commencing we will agree on a set amount of repairs done for your car based on the amount you are looking to spend.

What do I do after an accident?

  • Make sure your vehicle is off, stay calm and check if anyone is injured.
  • Call 000 if anyone is trapped or injured. If everyone is alright, call the police and report what happened.
  • Do not admit liability.
  • Collect information:

    – Crash details – Date, Time, Street, Suburb.

    – Vehicle & Driver details – Registration number and State, Make & Model, Driver Name, Address, Licence number and State,  Phone, Owner Name and Address (if different to driver details), Insurer.

  • Witness details – Name, Phone number.
  • If you decide to lodge an insurance claim at this time make sure you tell them that Guido’s Panel & Paint is your choice of repairer.
  • If your vehicle is still drivable, bring the damaged vehicle to Guido’s Panel & Paint so that we may assess the damage and prepare a repair quote. If you have not yet lodged a claim, we can assist you.

What happens if more damage is found after commencing the repair?

It is not uncommon to find something else that is damaged after the initial inspection.  Don’t worry, if we do find anything we will document, photograph and advise your insurance company of the extra damage.  In some cases this may delay repair as we may need to wait for more parts but be assured that we will do our best to complete the repairs as soon as we can.

Will the newly painted panels match?

Thanks to state of the art technology and our skilled paint technicians here at Guido’s Panel & Paint, we can replicate almost any paint colour.  We start by locating your vehicle’s paint code.  Next our paint technician uses a computerised paint-mixing system to locate the standard colour for your car and any known variants.  We then determine the best match.  Finally, between tinting and blending, the colour match area becomes completely invisible.

What types of parts does Guido's Panel & Paint use, and what's the difference between them?

We use three different types of parts depending on which one your insurance company would prefer.  Whatever parts we use, we guarantee all our work for as long as you own the vehicle.  We will always do top quality repairs and have been doing so since 1992.

OEM – This stands for “Original Equipment Manufacturer”.  These parts are made for your vehicle by the manufacturer from where your car came.

AFTERMARKET – These parts are produced by a manufacturer other than the manufacturer that made your car.

USED – These parts are more commonly known as “Second Hand” and are most likely genuine OEM parts that have come from a previous damaged vehicle.

Can I have Guido's Panel & paint repair my car, even though my insurance company recommends someone else?

Yes!  The insurance company can always recommend someone to fix your car but they can’t force you to take it to any shop you don’t trust.

What's the difference between third party and comprehensive insurance cover?

Third Party Insurance only covers the other party’s damage to their vehicle or property caused by you.

Comprehensive Insurance covers all related damage to your car, and the other party’s vehicle and property.

What is an excess and when do I pay it?

An excess is the portion of the bill that is not covered by your insurance company.  Excess is paid at the time of lodging a claim or once the repairs are completed.  Your Excess amount will be stated in your insurance policy documents.

Will this accident make my insurance premium go up, or affect my No-Claim bonus?

There are many factors that influence your insurance premium.  Factors like who was at fault, driving history, and type of loss.  You should always call your insurance company to determine the impact your claim will have on your policy’s premium.

Do I have to get more than one quote?

No, you don’t need more than one quote; you only need to notify your Insurance Company that you prefer to have the service done at Guido’s Panel & Paint.  We will always work with your Insurance Company and provide you with the quality service you expect.
